Cybersecurity Collective
Connecting cybersecurity qualified individuals with information security experts to protect your operations.
What is the Cybersecurity Collective?
The Cybersecurity Collective is a group that connects and educates professionals interested in sharpening their cybersecurity skills.
It provides a private forum for you to ask (and answer!) questions about cybersecurity and how to protect your business. When you join, you’ll get access to an invite-only LinkedIn Group, quarterly Zoom webinars on burning cybersecurity topics, and more.
Who Should Participate?
This group is for Qualified Individuals as defined by the Safeguards Rule and ACA members in a cybersecurity/IT role. Nonmember security experts that work with ACA member companies can also participate.
What Will I Get Out of the Collective?
You’ll be connected to group of cybersecurity enthusiasts and professionals who are eager to share insights and offer guidance. Whether you’re a seasoned expert or just dipping your toes into the world of digital security, this is the perfect opportunity to learn, share, and grow together.
Do you have burning questions about cybersecurity trends, best practices, or emerging threats? Don’t hesitate to post them in our LinkedIn Group!
We will also host a quarterly interactive cybersecurity webinar series, where we will discuss the latest in IT and security with a group of professionals in your industry.
Security experts from TPx, ACA’s Safeguards Security Partner of Choice, will host these webinars to explore critical cybersecurity topics and offer advice. This series is free for all Qualified Individuals and ACA members in a cybersecurity/IT role.
The first quarterly Zoom webinar will be held in September. Stay tuned for more details!
What is the Frequency of Communication?
The LinkedIn group will have free-flowing input and all members can participate. This group may have a different topic each week, and will be especially helpful when news breaks on new breaches. Participants will share insights on new mitigation strategies to reduce your risks. It’s expected that once a quarter there will be an online webinar, and ACA will create opportunities for members of this group to connect at industry in-person events. The main emphasis is people with cybersecurity responsibilities to talk to others with similar responsibilities—people who speak your language!

What is a Qualified Individual?
Under the Safeguards Rule, companies must designate a Qualified Individual to implement and supervise your information security program (can be a service provider). Complying with the Safeguards Rule is not just a legal requirement; it is an essential step toward protecting consumer data and maintaining trust. If you are a business that maintains customer information for less than 5,000 consumers, then you do not need to comply with certain provisions of the rule. Refer to this blog post for more information.
Access ACA’s Safeguards Rule Resource Center to learn more about your compliance obligations.
