ACA International’s Idaho, Oregon, and Washington units met at the Vancouver Hilton in Vancouver, Washington, May 13-15, for the 2024 Northwest Collectors Conference. ACA’s CEO Scott Purcell and Corporate Counsel Colin Winkler, plus ACA President David Williams and Treasurer Jennifer Whipple, were in attendance as well.
“The Northwest Collectors Conference consistently provides opportunities for great connections, incredible camaraderie, poignant updates on state issues and advocacy strategy, and seeing great minds in the industry solve difficult problems,” Purcell said. “It was an honor to be part of this year’s event; it didn’t disappoint!”
The conference included networking opportunities, educational sessions on topics such as robot process automation, presentations by local legislators, and a political action committee auction.
Attendees had the opportunity to participate in several fun activities, including a golf outing, poker tournament and paint and sip.
The Washington unit elected and installed these new officers for 2024:
- Cindy Gagne, President
- Kevin Underwood, Vice-President
- Alexandra Sandoval, Treasurer
- Ralph Hall, Secretary
- Angela Crawford, ACA Delegate
- Kimberly Tibbs, ACA Delegate
- Amber Steele, ACA Delegate
At the conference, a three-state Merger Committee presented its recommendation that the Idaho, Oregon and Washington units merge into one Northwest Collectors Association. All three states voted in favor of the merger, which will take effect on Jan. 1, 2025.
“I am proud of everyone who contributed to the serious discussions about merging our units,” said Gwen Turner, chief operations officer at Fairway Collections and past president of the Washington Collector’s Association. “Change can be difficult, and it was crucial to voice concerns. It’s an honor knowing we have strong enough relationships to have difficult conversations and be kind to each other. The Northwest Collectors Association is comprised of fabulous professionals that I call my family.”
